Close-Up Magic
Sleight of hand performed close enough to feel personal, and perhaps a little rude.
This is not a bar you stumble into. Follow the clues, find the hidden door, and step into a night where close-up magic, forbidden little mysteries, burlesque, and beautifully made drinks occupy the same shadows.
Nothing happens at a polite distance. The impossible unfolds inches from your glass. Conversations blur into performance. You may leave with answers, though honestly, we would not count on it.
One intimate room. A rotating assembly of charming deceivers, dangerous ideas, and very good reasons to stay for another drink.
Sleight of hand performed close enough to feel personal, and perhaps a little rude.
Quiet encounters with The Mystical TeAnna, for guests brave enough to ask better questions.
Award-winning performers, glamour with teeth, and just enough restraint to make restraint seem foolish.
A cash bar with cocktails made for the room, the mood, and the people who managed to find it.
The room never settles into an ordinary show. A reading begins across the table. A performer appears through the curtain. Someone chooses a card, someone loses an earring, and the evening develops motives of its own.
The best hidden lounges make discovery part of the pleasure. Here, your reservation gives you what you need to begin. The rest arrives one secret at a time.
Request admission online. Seats are limited by the size of the room, which is intimate by design.
A week ahead, a few practical notes. On the night, your private ledger arrives with the first riddle.
A short walk through Charm City, a riddle at each stop, hints if you need them. Look twice; the obvious entrance is rarely the interesting one.
Find the door, say the words, and cross the threshold. After that, the night keeps its own counsel.
Admission is limited. Reservations reveal what you need to know, when you need to know it. Dress for a secret worth keeping.
Reserve Your PlaceEverything you need to know, and nothing that gives the door away.
A hidden speakeasy night of magic, mind reading, burlesque and crafted cocktails in Baltimore. There's no sign on the door. Guests follow clues to find it, give the password, and step inside.
After you reserve, instructions arrive by email. On the night you'll receive a private link to your ledger, which guides you through a few stops downtown with a riddle at each one. Hints are there if you need them.
A short, easy evening walk between a few stops downtown. Comfortable shoes beat heroic ones.
Plan to begin 90 minutes to 2 hours before showtime. That leaves room for the riddles, a wrong turn or two, and a relaxed arrival.
No. The clues are designed for curious people, not experts, and the hints will see you through.
Smart, not stuffy. Nobody expects a tuxedo, but a T-shirt won't get past the door either. Dress like you're meeting someone interesting for cocktails, because you are. 1920s glamour is welcome and never required, and comfortable shoes are forgiven, even encouraged.
Yes. The Lounge is 21+, so bring photo ID.
Of course. Your party follows the same ledger together, so start at the same time.
The clues work rain or shine, so bring an umbrella. If the weather ever changes plans, we'll email you.
Yes. Birthdays, anniversaries, company nights and occasions requiring a room with fewer witnesses. Send a note through the contact page and the Bookkeeper will write back.
Plenty. Valet is waiting where your night ends, street parking nearby is usually free after 6 PM, and there are garages a short walk away. We can't tell you where that is, obviously, but you won't be left circling the block. Once you find the door, your ledger shows a parking map for next time.
Please don't. Not the staff you meet along the way, and not the staff at the end of it. They're sworn to secrecy, and anyone caught asking where the entrance is forfeits their prize. You've come this far, after all.
Write to the Bookkeeper through the contact page. Replies come by email, usually within a day or two.
Hidden inside a historically haunted location, the Lounge belongs to another hour entirely. Brass gleams. Velvet waits. The city outside carries on, blissfully unaware.
Ask about private gatherings, special celebrations, and occasions requiring a room with fewer witnesses.
Contact the LoungeKeep an eye on your email. Before your night, the Bookkeeper will send word of where to begin. Tell no one. Or tell everyone, and watch them wonder.
